FALL MULCHING

An application of mulch in existing beds or on new plantings helps stabilize soil temperatures and moisture. Perennials in particular enjoy this winter blanket to keep them from frost heaving.

GUTTERS

We will come out and clean all gutters and down spouts. This is a one time service done when the majority of the leaf debris has fallen.

Stecks Irrigation will repair any leaks or breaks, prior to shutting off the system. All pipes will be bled out so that no damage occurs during the winter months.

CORE AERATION

Core Aeration is the process of removing soil plugs from the lawn by machine. The purpose of this is to loosen the excessively compacted soil. This allows the air, water and other nutrients into the soil, making a more healthy lawn.

SCREENING TREES

Neighbors are great, aren't they? Fall is the perfect time of year to block them from your view. White pine, Norway Spruce, Colorado Blue Spruce, Canadian Hemlock, and Concolor Fir are available from small to large sizes. Call either before or after the leaves drop, we can safely plant these trees into December.

Our Deer Spray is a custom blend of a deer repellent and an anti-desicant, which helps trees and shrubs maintain their moisture during winters drying winds. Our deer spray is semi-organic and is therefore nontoxic. We can only apply the spray when temperatures are above 40 degrees and we are not expecting rain within 24 hours. Depending on the severity of the winter it is usually only necessary to apply once.

Fall is an excellent time to plant. Cooler nights and more regular rainfall greatly reduces the stress on plants. Tree and shrub root systems are actively growing due to warm soil temperatures, and plant availability has increased after the summer growing season. Use Health Start 3-4-3 fertilizer to supply your new plants with the perfect balance of nutrient, which will ensure a long life and healthy performance.

We will rake out any dead patches and apply grass seed, where needed, in your lawn.
