Dear Mr. Roy Hill, As a class officer of the Class of 2000 at Weston High School, my son Tyler was commissioned last spring to find the traditional class gift to leave the school. He decided a patio of engraved bricks with benches in the front of the school would be appropriately honor the significance of the first graduating class of the new millennium as well as enhance the schools entrance. In seeking the materials and workmanship, he and I have encountered suppliers with remarkable Generosity. The community pride demonstrated by local homegrown businesses has been Amazing. Sam Gault of Gault, Inc. in Westport donated all the bricks and gave a tremendous discount on the three benches. Kai Agerskov of A&B Family Memorials gave us a discount on the engraving. John Giannelli of Stecks Nursery and Landscaping in Bethel, who has not forgotten his roots as a staples alumnus and as a Weston resident, donated his expertise and the diligence of his employees to lay the entire patio. All day last Friday, September 22, a crew of Stecks employees, with John's assistance, labored and toiled. A Class of 2000 dream for posterity became real. The patio is beautifully displayed in front of the high school to commemorate the turn of the century. It must be remembered that this exquisite patio would not be possible were it not for the benevolence and hard work of local businesses. We thank Sam Gault, Kai and John Giannelli for their invaluable gift to a Weston landmark. The Weston High School Class of 2000 and I are proud to have them in our community and wish them much deserved success. May their legacy live on. Kind regards, |

Dear Mr. Giannelli, I want to extend my personal appreciation for your contributions made on behalf of the Weston High School Class of 2000. Your generosity made it possible to prepare and install the brick patio that now welcomes visitors upon their arrival to the high school. Because of local business resources and services, much of the funds collected were able to be donated to the school beautification fund. This will allow us to make improvements that enhance the appearance of our facility and grounds. Your caring and contributions are a testament to your commitment to our students and our school community. Your actions stand as a lesson to our students about the impact of service, volunteerism, and community support. I thank you for not only the material benefits we gained from your generosity but for the important lesson you taught others by your actions. Sincerely, Mary Monroe Kolek |
